City BUSES:

Sanya is a small city. For the moment only No.202 and No.204 bus available for city transportation. No.204 Bus will cover the all part of Sanya, while No. 202 goes directly from Da Dong Sea to Eastern Station. It cost only RMB1/person wherever you get on and get off the buses. If you are not sure which one to get on, please take No.204 bus which cover all the destinations of No. 202bus.

Car Rental

Rent a car, you need to prepare your passport, your arrival air tickets, drivers license, deposit by cash or by credit card, and of course sign a contract with the company. The company will drive the car or van you require to your hotel and you can rent in Sanya and return in Haikou. Daily rental is limited to 8 hours or 300-400 Kilometers (depends on different companies). There are choices of local car, van or international ones. Prices range from USD38/day to 1250/day depending on what kind of car you want.

Car Rental in Sanya & Haikou Hainan Island

Here are terms and conditions:
1. A copy of your passport, driving license (Chinese or International) is a must.
2. Insurance covers damage and risks to the driver, passengers and others
3. Never drive the car out of Hainan Island.
4. Rentals are per day for 24 hours, limited to 300 KL, extra KL at RMB1
5. Contract available only in Chinese for the moment.
6. Major credit cards are accepted.
7. Pick up in Haikou and deliver in Sanya or in reverse at extra charge.
8. 20% supplement for all Chinese and International Public Holidays

Buses

From 7am to 11pm daily from Haikou South Bus Station to Sanya Bus Station. The buses run 4 hours without stop along the east high way. It costs RMB80/person/way (USD10) in a deluxe bus with air conditioner and noisy TV also. A cheaper one costs RMB50/person (USD6.5/person), but it stops all the way and it takes 5 hours to be in Sanya.
The bus schedule: From 7am to 6pm, every 20 minutes/bus. From 7pm to 11pm, every hour/bus.
If you are travel alone, bus is the best choice as it is cheap, convenient and safe.





Mountain Bike:

Sanya is also a perfect destination for mountain biking. It costs RMB20-60/bike/hour depending on different hotels.
